Some secrets at Target

I wanted to share some savings tips at Target that some shoppers may not be aware of.

1. Target lists coupons on its website. You can find the link at the bottom of Target.com and the coupons are nicely organized by category. It's always a good idea to check the coupons before you go especially since Target lets you double store coupons and manufacturers coupons on the same purchase.

2. If you purchase something and the following week it goes on sale bring in your receipt and Target will reimburse you the savings. I've done this quite a few times and I've saved quite a bit of money as a result. Note: Customer service does require a receipt and the purchase must have been made within seven days of the sale.

3. Target honors price matching. If you find the same item at another store for a lower price bring in the ad and Target will honor that price. And, you can still apply your coupons to that lower price. However, make sure the product is the same brand, same style, quantity, etc. or the price match won't be honored.

Hope these little tips leads to more savings.

Like us on facebook and win

To celebrate the start of this blog. I have a $10 gift card to Toys R Us/Babies R Us to give away. Just like us on facebook and I will randomly select and announce a winner on Wednesday.
Check back Wednesday evening when I'll announce the winner and a new giveaway.

Out with old, in with the new

Babies R Us is offering its trade-in promotion on used baby gear until Feb. 21.

Here's how it works: For each used baby gear item you bring in Babies R Us gives you 25 percent off a new baby gear purchase.

The promotion is valid for  strollers, high chairs, play yards, car seats, cribs, toddler beds and travel systems, and Babies R Us says there's no limit on how many items you can exchange for 25 percent off coupons.

Here's the fine print: To get the 25 percent discount you must make a purchase the same day as your exchange and the discount is only applicable to select brands, some of which include Chicco, Evenflo, Graco and Eddie Bauer.

Visit babiesrus.com/trade-in for complete details.

Baby book club

There's so many creative books out there for children these days. And, while it's good to keep a collection of books at home, books can be expense these days.

When we buy books for our daughter we usually like to try the Goodwill Bookstore first as we've found Dr. Seuss and other classics, in perfect condition, priced at $2.99 and lower. But we've also taken a great liking to our local library. I plan to blog frequently on some recommended reading choices and hope you will share yours, too.

Recent readings:

Purplicious. By Victoria Kahn and Elizabeth Kahn. $11.99 at Amazon.com
A follow up to Pinkalicious, this little girl's love for pink turns blue when classmates tease her.

Olivia and the Missing Toy. By Ian Falconer. $11.99 at Amazon.com
Olivia, a young, little pig, won't rest until she finds her favorite toy that's gone missing.

Ten Little Rubber Ducks. By Eric Carle. $16.91 at Amazon.com
Follow the journey of 10 little rubber ducks when they fall overboard on a cargo ship.

Amazon seemed to have the best prices or you can borrow them for free at your library.

Target's baby sale is here

Target has several good sales on baby gear and essentials throughout the year and you'll be pleased to find Target's weekly ad features sales on strollers, car seats, formula and diapers.

Now, I know I was just mentioning the awesome prices Amazon.com has on diapers for Amazon moms but if you found the coupons I did in my Sunday paper today you can greatly maximize your savings on Pampers this week.

Target has Pampers Swaddlers, Cruisers and Baby Dry big-pack diapers on sale for $19.99. Buy two, and you get a $5 Target gift card. Pampers wipes refills are also on sale for $11.99 and two boxes also gets you a $5 coupon.

Check your local paper for what I found in mine today: a Target store coupon for a $7 of the purchase of both Pampers diapers and wipes, and a $2 manufacturers coupon off Pampers diapers and wipes. As we know, Target let's you double store and manufacturers coupons.

Given the $5 gift card promotion, it might be worth buying two papers to get two of each coupon.

Other sales you might like for in the Target weekly ad include:

4 for $7 on Gerber Graduates finger foods
$6 for  a 2-pack of sippy cups
$3 onsies
$21.99 for Enfamil ($5 gift card with purchase of two)
$35 for Safety 1st booster seats

As always check your coupons to try and maximize these good deals.

Happy saving!

Super Bowl equals sales

Every year as the Super Bowl approaches you'll find sales on assortment of things: HDTVs, grills, snacks and soda.

But today I was pleased to find in Walmart's weekly ad a sale on a 6-foot folding table for $34.88.

Yes, I am excited about a sale on a folding table. For some time, I've been considering getting a desk for my sewing machine and crafting. But we don't have the room in our house or budget for more furniture.

So for some time I thought a long folding table could be more practical. It's spacious enough for my sewing and craft projects and I can leave said projects out longer as I currently use the dining table. Also, when we want the extra room it's easy enough to fold up and store in the garage and it will come in handy around the holidays when we have company.

Romper time

A week ago, I went to Carter's Outlet to spend a gift card my daughter had received. I decided to use the gift card to buy some spring and summer clothes as it will be warming up before we know it.

After making my purchases I exited the store and spotted this cute romper in the window. I thought it was so cute and practical for summer I went back in to purchase it. Except by then the line was so long I decided that was a sign to end my shopping.

Good thing. The romper was priced at $10 in the store. But on diapers.com I found the same romper priced at $7.99, a better sale than Carter's in-store and carters.com, which is priced at $12. The catch however is you will have to pay up a fairly steep shipping and handling fee unless you have $49 worth of purchases you're already planning to make on diapers.com.

I'm an Amazon Mom

Something I wish I would have learned about much earlier on in my days of buying diapers — amazon.com/mom.

Recently I learned of this program through a friend's facebook status update. I wasn't aware amazon.com had a savings program for moms so of course I had to inquire.

Come to find, Amazon has the best prices I've ever seen on Pampers (with all the special savings), plus no tax, plus free shipping and regular delivery to your door.

My first purchase of Pampers on Amazon totaled $18.94 for a box of 176 diapers. The price started out at $40.88. Wow!

So, here's how the Amazon Mom program works and how you can maximize your savings. You sign up for a free account membership, which entitles you to a 15 percent discount on diapers and wipes. Then, you can get an additional 15 percent off the price by registering for Amazon's subscribe and save program in which you dictate how often you want delivery, i.e. 1 month, 2 months, 3 months.

And if you check a parenting magazine such as American Baby, Parenting or Parents, you may find a coupon for 20 percent of diapers at Amazon.

I wish I had learned of this program from Day 1 with my daughter. But at 1-year-old she has plenty of diaper days ahead of her and I'll be sure to get plenty of savings.

Happy saving!
